The Origin of “October Daniels”

My name is October Daniels.  At least, I like to pretend it is.

It’s a split personality thing–a “secret identity,” if you will.  But why conceal my civilian identity as a mild-mannered lawyer? (If, of course, you believe in such a thing as a “mild-mannered lawyer.”)

It’s because there are dark, nasty things lurking in the seedy alleyways of my mind.  Creepy, I know.  So, in my never-ending quest to lock them up behind bars of notebook paper for you, the reader, to see, I decided to become something greater than the perpetual paper-pusher I am by daylight.

I am currently working on finishing the manuscript of my first young adult novel, tentatively titled “The Beacon.”  It’s a big plot casserole lovingly baked with bits of action, romance, horror, superhero fantasy, and whatever bits of the Great Gatsby I can sneak in without overpowering the flavor of the dish.

When I’m not avenging the night with pen in hand, I’m spending time with my wonderful wife, helping clients who can’t afford representation, studying law, and other things you probably didn’t come here to know about but will probably be reading plenty about anyway.

If, that is, you stick around.  I sincerely hope you do.  Or, you can always follow me on Twitter @OctoberDaniels.
